In our latest move to ensure that recruitment agencies are fully compliant when dealing with the complexity of international tax law, we have launched our own consulting service, 6CATSPRO, enabling us to better provide recruitment businesses with the strategic consultative advice they need to manage contractor compliance in-house.
6CATSPRO will include services such as: the development of compliance processes; training to relevant teams within an agency; country specific workshops; guidance on supplier due diligence documents; templates and process management; a complete compliance audit; and ad hoc support. With our wealth of market intelligence, established international presence, and extensive network of accountants, lawyers and country experts, our knowledge is always up-to-date and we can adapt our solutions as soon as any legislation changes take place.
Why 6CATSPRO?
We understand that some recruitment businesses want to manage contractor compliance in-house, but need assistance in developing the right processes or require training for teams within their business. This is especially true when, in the last few years, the landscape of compliance legislation management for the recruitment industry has changed so rapidly.
The Limosa introduction in Belgium and changes in the UK with IR35 and travel and subsistence expenses have all been a part of this. More recently, we have seen radical legislation change in Germany, which has significantly impacted the way recruitment agencies operate, plus movement in a similar direction from the Netherlands and Austria. Furthermore, many more countries seem to be shifting towards employed models or more controlled engagement options, as part of a global push to prevent tax evasion. There is also a significant additional risk since the introduction of the Criminal Finances Act, which holds directors and owners of UK companies criminally liable for facilitating tax evasion, knowingly or not.
However, it can be difficult for recruitment agencies to keep up-to-date with these legislation changes, and ensuring compliance is maintained is a niche skill. The option of engaging lawyers and accountants for advice often results in spiralling costs, with no clear picture of what is actually workable. However, through 6CATSPRO, we can offer commercial, practical and industry specific advice and support to the recruitment profession.
Michelle Reilly, our founder and CEO, commented on the launch of 6CATSPRO, saying:
“International compliance can be a stumbling block for agencies placing contractors across borders. However, as tax and compliance become increasingly complex and authorities continue to tackle fraudulent behaviour, the risks facing agencies are larger than ever. With the introduction of 6CATSPRO, we are able to offer practical support, tailored advice and training to recruitment.’’
“Employing some of the most skilled expertise in our sector – with a combined experience of over 100 years – and having a network of global advisors at our fingertips able to keep us and our clients up to date on global compliance requirements, developing 6CATSPRO to further support the international recruitment industry was a natural progression for us.”
